Latvenergo Group divides its operations into three operating segments: generation and trade, distribution and lease of transmission system assets.
The generation and trade segment comprises electricity and thermal energy generation operations, conducted by Latvenergo AS (www.latvenergo.lv) and Liepājas enerģija SIA (www.liepajasenergija.lv), as well as electricity trade (incl. electricity wholesale) in the Baltics carried out by Latvenergo AS (www.elektrum.lv), Elektrum Eesti OÜ (www.elektrum.ee) and Elektrum Lietuva UAB (www.elektrum.lt). Mandatory procurement is administrated by Enerģijas publiskais tirgotājs AS (www.eptirgotajs.lv).
The distribution segment provides electricity distribution services in Latvia (approximately 99% of the territory). Services are provided by Sadales tīkls AS – the largest distribution system operator in Latvia (about 830 thousand customers). Distribution system tariffs are approved by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). More information on Sadales tīkls AS webpage www.sadalestikls.lv.
The lease of transmission system assets segment is managed by Latvijas elektriskie tīkli AS – the company that owns the transmission system assets (330 kV and 110 kV transmission lines, substations and distribution points) and conducts their lease to the transmission system operator Augstsprieguma tīkls AS. The payments for the lease of transmission system assets are calculated in accordance with the methodology approved by the PUC. More information on Latvijas elektriskie tīkli AS webpage www.let.lv.
